ROLAND LISTENING REVISION R2.2
12 October 2026

Reviewed all 128 Roland programs. Revised 35 programs; names retained. R2.1 lowers only 709 by one octave.
507 is the J60 Piano 1 patch identified in your feedback.
LFO1 Sync remains enabled on 514, 516, 605 and 606. The failed sync-only fix on 507 was replaced in R2.2.
Delayed vibrato on 505, 507, 615, 616, 702, 802 and C06 uses an envelope to scale the actual pitch route.
C06 delayed-vibrato timing and depth approved by the user; other delayed patches are not individually confirmed. Exact seconds have not been measured.
709 is now a TEO FM steel-drum interpretation with a ringing decay.
Percussive pianos, plucks and bells keep zero sustain where appropriate, with longer decay and release.
Held bass notes and A08 strings receive useful sustained body.

505 J60 Brass [additional audit fix]
Delayed, shallow automatic vibrato: Env1 now raises the actual LFO1-to-pitch matrix amount after a delay. Original filter contour (and any envelope PWM) moved to Env2; amp/gate behavior retained. Delay setting 75/127 and fade attack 85/255 target a gentle 1-2 second onset, not a measured time.

507 J60 Piano 1
R2.2 piano correction: removed the unsuccessful clock-sync-only fix. Immediate LFO1 pitch amount +8 is now zero at onset, then rises gently to +1 through Env1 after the C06-approved delay/fade settings. LFO1 rate also follows C06. The identical original filter/amplifier contour is shared on Env2; piano decay, release, register, wheel vibrato and pressure brightness are retained. User auditioned the saved R2.2 patch and confirmed: "Yes, this fixes it."

514 J60 Clavichord 1
LFO1 clock sync enabled, exactly as requested; stored division, rate, waveform and modulation depths retained.

516 J60 Violine
LFO1 clock sync enabled, exactly as requested; stored division, rate, waveform and modulation depths retained.

605 J60 Low Strings
LFO1 clock sync enabled, exactly as requested; stored division, rate, waveform and modulation depths retained.

606 J60 Staccato Strings
LFO1 clock sync enabled, exactly as requested; stored division, rate, waveform and modulation depths retained.

607 J60 Fanfare Brass [additional audit fix]
Audit: reduced immediate LFO1 pitch depth from 2 to 1; gate and filter/PWM envelopes retained.

615 J60 Hammer Lead
Delayed, shallow automatic vibrato: Env1 now raises the actual LFO1-to-pitch matrix amount after a delay. Original filter contour (and any envelope PWM) moved to Env2; amp/gate behavior retained. Delay setting 75/127 and fade attack 85/255 target a gentle 1-2 second onset, not a measured time.

616 J60 Neg Lead
Delayed, shallow automatic vibrato: Env1 now raises the actual LFO1-to-pitch matrix amount after a delay. Original filter contour (and any envelope PWM) moved to Env2; amp/gate behavior retained. Delay setting 75/127 and fade attack 85/255 target a gentle 1-2 second onset, not a measured time.

702 J106 Choir
Delayed, shallow automatic vibrato: Env1 now raises the actual LFO1-to-pitch matrix amount after a delay. Original filter contour (and any envelope PWM) moved to Env2; amp/gate behavior retained. Delay setting 75/127 and fade attack 85/255 target a gentle 1-2 second onset, not a measured time.

703 J106 Piano I
Reported truncation: extended the playable decay/release and coordinated the filter tail with the amplifier. Zero sustain retained so this percussive sound still dies away naturally.

708 J106 E Piano II [additional audit fix]
Audit: extended the playable decay/release and coordinated the filter tail with the amplifier. Zero sustain retained so this percussive sound still dies away naturally.

709 J106 Steel Drums
Steel-drum redesign: triangle carrier with a quiet 3:1 triangle FM modulator, a short decaying FM attack and a longer ringing amplifier tail. TEO-native interpretation replaces the inadequate subtractive approximation; no automatic pitch LFO. Vintage reduced to keep the struck pitch clear.

710 J106 Xylophone [additional audit fix]
Audit: extended the playable decay/release and coordinated the filter tail with the amplifier. Zero sustain retained so this percussive sound still dies away naturally.

711 J106 Pizzicato
Reported truncation: extended the playable decay/release and coordinated the filter tail with the amplifier. Zero sustain retained so this percussive sound still dies away naturally.

713 J106 Guitar
Reported truncation: extended the playable decay/release and coordinated the filter tail with the amplifier.

714 J106 Koto
Reported truncation: extended the playable decay/release and coordinated the filter tail with the amplifier. Zero sustain retained so this percussive sound still dies away naturally.

715 J106 Dark Pluck
Reported truncation: extended the playable decay/release and coordinated the filter tail with the amplifier.

801 J106 Synth Bass I
Reported truncation: extended the playable decay/release and coordinated the filter tail with the amplifier. Added held-note body while retaining the plucked onset.

802 J106 Lead I
Delayed, shallow automatic vibrato: Env1 now raises the actual LFO1-to-pitch matrix amount after a delay. Original filter contour (and any envelope PWM) moved to Env2; amp/gate behavior retained. Delay setting 75/127 and fade attack 85/255 target a gentle 1-2 second onset, not a measured time.

809 J106 Bass Pluck [additional audit fix]
Audit: extended the playable decay/release and coordinated the filter tail with the amplifier. Added held-note body while retaining the plucked onset.

905 JX Lao Chimes [additional audit fix]
Audit: extended the playable decay/release and coordinated the filter tail with the amplifier. Zero sustain retained so this percussive sound still dies away naturally.

A01 JX Stab Orch [additional audit fix]
Audit: reduced both constant pitch-LFO routes from 15 to 1, removing the unusually wide automatic pitch wobble while preserving the orchestral envelope.

A08 JX Warmstring [additional audit fix]
Audit: extended the playable decay/release and coordinated the filter tail with the amplifier. Raised string sustain from 14 to 90 so held chords do not nearly disappear.

A10 JX Pluckstrgs
Reported truncation: extended the playable decay/release and coordinated the filter tail with the amplifier. Zero sustain retained so this percussive sound still dies away naturally.

A12 JX Harp

FOLLOW-UP LISTENING REFINEMENT R2.1
C06 flute vibrato timing and depth approved by the user. User requested a slightly shorter 709 decay and one octave lower; R2.1 applies those two changes. No explicit new verdict on 703/801.
R2.1 listening refinement: amplifier decay reduced slightly from 195 to 185; patch transpose lowered exactly one octave (neutral 2 to 1). FM attack, release and oscillator ratio retained.

FOLLOW-UP PIANO CORRECTION R2.2
R2.2 piano correction: removed the unsuccessful clock-sync-only fix. Immediate LFO1 pitch amount +8 is now zero at onset, then rises gently to +1 through Env1 after the C06-approved delay/fade settings. LFO1 rate also follows C06. The identical original filter/amplifier contour is shared on Env2; piano decay, release, register, wheel vibrato and pressure brightness are retained. User auditioned the saved R2.2 patch and confirmed: "Yes, this fixes it."
