SONY PLAYSTATION · CD-ROM · MEMORY CARD

PSY GAMES on the Sony PlayStation is the full-fidelity console edition of Remote Viewing Training, the psychic-perception trainer that began as a web app. It carries the original's photographic targets onto a CD, keeps all four modes, saves to a Memory Card, and supports an unusually wide range of controllers, including the PlayStation Mouse.

01What this is

The PlayStation build is the reference console port: a cyan terminal UI over a starfield, with target photos rendered as a teal duotone that suits both the CRT and the disc's color budget. It reads as a piece of declassified hardware rather than a downscaled web page.

03Controls & compatibility

Because the whole game turns on drawing, the port leans into the PlayStation's input options. It reads the standard digital pad, the Dual Analog and DualShock (with vibration), and the Analog Joystick. Most unusually, it supports the PlayStation Mouse, which is rare for a PS1 release and a natural fit here: you can sketch your impressions with a cursor, much as you would in the original web app.

04How it compares to the original

The disc keeps every mode and the original's full target set; what changes is the hardware around it. The web app runs in full color at any resolution with touch or mouse input. The PlayStation renders to a 4:3 screen with a teal-duotone target treatment, saves to a Memory Card instead of the browser, and trades the open web for the thing it can do that the web app cannot: run on the console, with a light gun's worth of input devices behind it.
