3D Plasma as a Computer Monitor

You can get the 42″ Panasonic GT25 at Fry’s for $598
You can also get it at B&H for a little more money

Outside of the Video, here are the Pros and Cons of using a Plasma as a monitor

Pros:
Incredible Black Level
Fantastic 1:1 720P Scaling as well as other resolutions
Least amount of 3D Crosstalk
Power usage same as older LCDs – from 80w to 240w

Cons:
May be susceptible to Image Retention
Takes a few hours to calibrate properly
Slight high-pitched noise if screen is fully white
60hz flicker

Once calibrated, the plasma will show details you will never see on a regular LCD. Get one of these clearance models before they are gone.

Panasonic GH1 vs GH2 – first test – 720p resolution

Here’s the first sample of the GH1 vs the GH2 in 720p mode.

We see that the GH2 720p mode appears to resolve more detail at the expense of aliasing, something which the GH1 has very little in 720p mode. However, the GH2 has less sharpening, obvious by the halation around the black lines. Next is to test this in motion

Cannon to the face

What do you get when you shoot a golf ball over 400MPH? Pure Win is the only correct answer.

Well, one is only slightly famous, but since he decided to drop his sub box sharing, and not let us know, Onision joined the ranks of the headless horde.

This video was shot with the hacked GH1 at 24fps and 60fps and a Canon 7D at 1080p 24fps. Unsurprisingly, most people enjoy shooting Fred the most. Whatever stops that high-pitched whine right? …
