Nikon D7000 Video Mode – Mini Review

Spent a half hour with a D7000 and here’s my brief conclusions

Likes:
Solid Construction, well laid out menus
Shutter and ISO control while shooting
Dual SD slots

Dislikes:
No aperture changing while in Live View. If using a electronic lens, you must stop recording, exit liveview and change aperture.

Conclusion
Without going into the video quality (which matches Canon at 1080p – moire and all) the inability to change aperture while in liveview is a deal killer unless you plan to only use manual lenses. What was Nikon thinking?

Tubemogul – PlayTime Now targeted ad program for youtube

For several years we (akirawing) (eyepatchentertainmen) have tracked our youtube channel performance with TubeMogul.com

Today they have announced Playtime which allows advertisers to “buy in-stream video ads on YouTube in real-time selecting specific publishers from a list of thousands of YouTube Partners, including top media companies, new media outlets and hit shows unique to YouTube.”

What is great about this that advertisers will have more tools to help bring even more focused and relevant advertising to our channels.

For our subscribers this means more detailed and focused equipment reviews which are at least partly subsidized by our youtube revenue.

Cry Macho – The new Arnie film

Below is the real info – from IGN
Arnold Schwarzenegger is set to return to the big-screen, but not in a fifth Terminator flick as recently rumoured, but rather in an adaptation of the 1975 novel Cry Macho.

According to Deadline, the film will feature Arnold as “a horse breeder who won the Kentucky Derby but whose wife and child get killed. He sinks into an alcoholic depression and winds up working for a hedge fund jerk who offers him a choice of getting fired or bringing back the rich guy’s son living with the ex-wife in Mexico.”

There’s no indication as to whether it’s a comedy, drama or action flick, but the story claims that the film will feature a road trip element as well as several plot twists.

Deadline reports that Arnie will pocket $12.5m plus 25% of the first dollar gross, with the financiers taking the project to the Cannes Film Festival next week in the hopes of closing the deal.
